Michael C. Freed, Ph.D., EMT-B
Dr Michael Freed is Maryland Licensed Psychologist with expertise in diagnostic evaluation and individual and marital/couples therapy. He is a general practitioner who generally works with older adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, trauma, substance use disorders and other addiction-related problems, depression, primary insomnia, and difficulties with decision making.
Dr. Freed holds an appointment as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and is a Scientist at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS), both at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, MD. He also works as a Clinical Research Psychologist in the Deployment Health Clinical Center (DHCC) at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC.
Dr. Freed's research expertise is in the areas posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), cost-effectiveness analysis, disease state valuation, program evaluation, and treatment-outcome studies.
